Pegasus Program Requirements

Pegasus Program Scholarships are awarded to exceptional high school students who are accepted for a summer or fall semester by Undergraduate Admissions. If you are a recipient of any of the scholarships in this program, you are responsible for making note of the following:

Required Forms:

The processed results of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) must be received at UCF by June 1st each and every year. To allow time for unforeseen processing delays, we suggest you file the FAFSA no later than April 15 so there is ample time for the processed results to be received by UCF. To be given the greatest consideration of other types of financial aid we suggest that you file the FAFSA by February 15th of each year to meet our application priority date of December 1st each year.

Please Note: Bright Futures Scholarships are awarded upon high school graduation. Pegasus Program Scholarships will be awarded to students upon admission to UCF.

Required Hours:

You must be enrolled as a full-time student (a minimum of 12 UCF credit hours) each fall and spring term. Please note: Dual or Transient hours taken at another institution are not considered UCF credit hours, and will not be considered for Pegasus full time enrollment.

Exceptions

** The only exception to the full time enrollment requirement is granted to students during their graduating semester.

For the exception to be extended, students must provide a memo on letterhead from their academic advisor indicating:

  • Student’s name and UCFID/PID
  • Semester graduation is expected
  • Name of course(s) needed for graduation
  • Name of the undergraduate degree to be received.

Please Note: If you are enrolled in less than six UCF hours during your graduating semester the exception must be approved by the Office of Student Financial Assistance Scholarship Committee. It is recommended that you submit your request at least two months prior to the beginning of your graduating semester to have a decision rendered before the beginning of the semester.

Students may appeal to the UCF Scholarship Appeals Committee if extenuating circumstances exist that prevent them from meeting the enrollment criteria. Appeals must be submitted prior to the semester in which the exception is being requested.
Students who would like to request a semester off of the scholarship program must submit the appeal the semester prior to the semester they plan to be away.

** Denotes that exceptions are based on extenuating circumstances and the documentation provided.
