Bright Futures Program Requirements
Initial Eligibility for High School Seniors
The most up to date information on initial eligibility criteria can be found at http://www.floridastudentfinancialaid.org/SSFAD/bf/bfmain.htm.
Final eligibility for Bright Futures is determined by the State of Florida Office of Student Financial Assistance (OSFA).
UCF begins awarding estimated Bright Futures awards in February for the upcoming academic year that begins in August.
- From February to the end of May, these estimates are based on information that UCF has on record including SAT/ACT scores and high school GPA.
- At the end May, UCF will load the award eligibility listing from OSFA which includes students who have been officially determined to be eligible for Bright Futures.
- For students who we estimated an award but whose final determination has not yet been made by OSFA will be notified by UCF.
- UCF receives regular updates to this list so students who are added to the list can expect an award to be made within about a week from OSFA’s final determination.
