Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic criteria and/or any combination of academics, financial need, campus/community activities, leadership positions and work experience.  Scholarships are designed to reward, encourage and assist students in pursuing academic excellence and leadership roles.

Many colleges and departments offer scholarships to students that are specific to an area of specialization.  Listed below are links to the various colleges on campus with scholarship listings.

MID-FLORIDA HOMEBUILDERS SCHOLARSHIP
09/10 Academic Year
- Must be a full-time student in the following disciplines: College of Business Administration; Engineering disciplines including Mechanical, Civil, Environmental, Industrial, Computer Engineering and Engineering Technology; and Computer Sciences.
- Students must reside in Osceola, Orange, or Seminole County.
- Preference will be given to juniors or seniors and employees or children of employees of members of the Home Builder’s Association of Mid-Florida.
- Must have a cumulative UCF GPA (Grade Point Average) of at least a 3.0 or better.
- Awards can be made to the same students for a total of two (2) years provided the recipient maintains a 3.0 GPA.
- Please attach three letters of recommendation and a transcript. In addition, please attach a list of all activities, honors, awards, and other personal qualities or factors of which you want us to be aware. This list should show a history of your activities either in school or in the community.
- Please attach a 500 word essay outlining your goals for the future and how they relate to the construction field.

ASCO Numatics Scholarship
-Must be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate or graduate program
- Must be majoring in engineering, instrumentation, systems, electrical, mechanical, or automation discipline at in accredited U.S educational institution for the 2009-2010 academic year
-At the time of application, must have completed at least sophomore year in a bachelor's degree program
-Must have at least a 3.2 GPA on a 4.0 scale
-Must be a U.S citizen or legal U.S. resident

2009-2010 New Look Laser Tattoo Removal Scholarship
-Must be a US citizens or permanent residents
- Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0
- Must be enrolled or planning to enroll in an accredited college or university in Fall 2009 or Spring of 2010
-Must attach (A) Information from below in a typed cover sheet; (B) Essay; (C) Copy of official transcript
    (A) Information Required: A cover sheet MUST include the applicant's:
        Full name
        Home address (street, city, state, zip code)
        Home telephone number
        Email address
        Name of high school/college/university with dates attended
        Phone number of high school/college/university
        Academic focus/major
        Current grade point average
        Are you a US citizen or permanent resident?
        Applicant's date of birth
    (B) Essay: 300-500 words; typewritten; 12 point type; double-spaced. Describe the technology or innovation that you most wish existed today, and why. Be as specific as possible, and explain how you plan to be involved with this innovation, perhaps as an inventor, user, etc. The best essays will give clear details, avoid grammatical or spelling errors, and weave in the applicants personal goals, aspirations, or preferences.
    (C) Transcript: Include, or request to have sent, an official and current transcript to the address below. All materials must be postmarked by June 30, 2009 for the upcoming Fall Scholarship.
AWARD: $1,000 each; $2,000 per year

Must be postmarked by June 30, 2009 and will be awarded on July 31, 2009. Spring Scholarship applications must be postmarked by November 30, 2009 and will be awarded December 31, 2009.

Minority Teacher Education Scholarship
- Must be a Florida resident
- Must be enrolled in an undergraduate Teacher Preparation Program in the College of Education
- Must have earned 60 s.h.
- Must maintain full-time enrollment
- Must have a semester and overall GPA of 2.5 or higher
- Must have earned no more than 18 s.h. of upper level Education credit
AWARD: Up to $1300 per semester (pending availability of funds)

Ford Foundation Scholarship
- Must be a Florida resident
- Need-Based Scholarship up to $1,300 each fall/spring term
- Must be enrolled in an undergraduate Teacher Preparation Program in the College of Education

William MacArthur International Affairs Awards Program Application
-Must a college or university student and possess the desire or intent to pursue or continue educational and career opportunities with an international focus.
-Show evidence of an overall minimum GPA of 3.5.
-Demonstrate a commitment to pursuing or continuing educational and career opportunities with an international focus.
-Provide two (2) letters of recommendation (with addresses, daytime telephone numbers, etc.), one from an academic source and the other from a non-academic source that detail the student’s contributions to international affairs.
-Write an essay (typed, double-spaced) of 500-750 words that answers the following question: To what extent should the Obama Administration make energy and the environment issues of national security?
AWARD: $500

Minority Community College Transfer Scholarship
-Must be preparing to transfer from a Florida public community college
-Awards may be based solely on merit; based on financial need with an acceptable GPA; or based on a combination of need and merit
AWARD: $1,600 ($800 Fall and $800 Spring)

Cracker Barrel Scholarship (for Part-Time Students)
-Must be a part-time undergraduate student in a Teacher Preparation Program in the College of Education
- Must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 s.h. and a maximum of 9 s.h. each term
- Must be a Florida resident
- Must maintain a semester and overall GPA of 2.5 or higher
AWARD: $2,000
DEADLINE: Fall semester is August 1st The deadline for applicants planning to enroll in the Spring semester is November 15th

UCF McNair Scholars Program
-Must have a desire to attain a Ph.D or Ed.D (Medical (MD) or other professional degrees (JD, MBA, PharmD, etc.) are not eligible for the program.)
-Must be a low-income student (Low-income guidelines are established by the US Department of Education) who is also a first-generation college student (neither parent or legal guardian has a Bachelor's degree); or be a member of a group that is
underrepresented in graduate education (African American, American Indian/Alaskan Native, or Hispanic/Latino)
-Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
-Must have minimum GPA of 3.0
-Must be enrolled as a full-time student at UCF and have completed 60 credit hours

UNITED STATES ARMY HEALTH PROFESSIONS SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
-Be a citizen of the United States.
-Be enrolled in or have a letter of acceptance to an accredited graduate program in the United States or Puerto Rico.
-Meet eligibility criteria for appointment as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army Reserve.
-Maintain full-time student status during the entire length of the program.
AWARD:  100% tuition is paid,
a generous monthly stipend of over $1907.00, & a $20, 000 Sign-on Bonus

Business Scholarship for College Students
-Must be an undergraduate students who are interested in pursuing bachelor level degrees related to business management, information systems management, marketing, finance, accounting, human resource management, and entrepreneurship.
-Must be full-time students during the academic year the scholarship is received.

HISPANIC College FUND
- Must be a senior in high school, rising freshman or a transfer student entering a 4-year bachelor's degree program.
- Applicant must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.

- Must be pursuing a degree in hospitality management, tourist management or culinary.

The Navy Postdoctoral Fellowship Programs
This program is open to US citizens and legal permanent residents and offers a competitive stipend as well as insurance, relocation, and travel allowances.  Locations include Navy Research Lab (NRL) and Naval Surface Warfare Center/ Indian Head.  This program offers one to three year postdoctoral fellowships designed to increase the involvement of scientists and engineers from academia and industry to scientific and technical areas of interest and relevance to the Navy.

Jewish Educational Loans Fund 2008-09 (This is a loan)
JELF's mission is to grant interest-free loans to Jewish students in need of funding for their secondary education. In July, JELF granted $639,731 in loans to 132 students throughout the Southeast. With an increase in need, JELF experienced its biggest loan disbursement ever. Applications for the 2009-10 school year will be available in February 2009.

GATES MILLENNIUM SCHOLARS
-Must be an African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American or Hispanic American.
-Must be a citizen, legal permanent resident or national of the United States.
-Must have attained a GPA (Grade Point Average) of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (unweighted).
-Must be entering a U.S. accredited college or university as a full time, degree seeking freshman in the Fall semester of your freshman year.
-Must demonstrate leadership abilities through participation in community service, extracurricular or other activities.
-Must be eligible for the Federal Pell Grant (eligibility for the Pell Grant is determined by submitting a completed FAFSA; Free Application for Federal Student Aid).
To Apply: There are three components to the scholarship nomination process: (1) A Nominee Personal Information Form to be completed by the student; (2) A Nominator form to be completed by a principal, teacher, guidance counselor or other professional educator, and (3) A Recommender form to be completed by an adult, other than a relative, who is familiar with the Nominee’s community service and leadership activities.

-Must apply for Federal Financial Aid funding using the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).

COLLEGE STUDENT PRECOMMISIONING INITIATIVE FOR THE U.S. COAST GUARD
- Must score a 1000 on the SAT, 1100 on the SAT I, 23 on the ACT, or ASVAB GT of 109 or higher
- Must be between 21 and 26 years of age at the time of your college graduation
- Must be a sophomore or junior (with at least 60 college credits completed toward your degree)

2) If Acrobat Reader is not installed, an Unknown File Type dialog box will appear. Click Save File. Choose the directory you wish to store the file in and click Save. The file will be downloaded.

3) Once your file has been downloaded, you may install Adobe Acrobat Reader and open the document that you downloaded. You can then view and print the form.
