Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic criteria and/or any combination of academics, financial need, campus/community activities, leadership positions and work experience.  Scholarships are designed to reward, encourage and assist students in pursuing academic excellence and leadership roles.

Additional places to check for undergraduate scholarships are:  Student Disability Services, UCF Alumni Office, UCF Athletic Department, Army ROTC, Air Force ROTC, Veterans Affairs, and the Multicultural Academic & Support Services.  Be sure to contact the offices of the department and college of your major for information on other undergraduate scholarships.

National Academy for Nuclear Training 2008/2009 Scholarship
- Must be a junior or senior level undergraduate student.
- Must be majoring in nuclear engineering, power generation health physics, electrical or mechanical engineering, or chemical engineering with nuclear or power option.
- Eligibility is restricted to those whoa are recommended by a nuclear utility.
AWARD: $2,500

2008/2009 Mary Fleigh Mackoul Scholarship
-Must be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student at UCF
-Must be enrolled in courses related to understanding the culture, politics and religion of Arab nations and Arabic language
-Must hold a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average
-Please review the application for any other requirements and documentation
AWARD: Two (2) awards of $350.00 per semester, (Fall-Spring), when enrolled in appropriate courses

National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (NRAEF)
2008 Scholarships Program

Academic Scholarships for ManageFirst Program Students
- Must be a ManageFirst Program student pursuing a certificate or bachelor’s degree in a restaurant and/or food service-related program.
- Must be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States or be a resident of American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
- Must have earned at least one ManageFirst Certificate, not including ServSafe Food Safety or ServSafe Alcohol.
- Must be enrolled as a full-time or substantial part-time (minimum of 9 credit hours) student.
- Must have completed at least one (1) grading term of study.
- Must have earned a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.75.
- Must be enrolled for two (2) consecutive semesters or not be entering your last semester before graduation.
AWARD: $2,000

National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (NRAEF)
2008 Scholarships Program

Academic Scholarships for Undergraduate Students
- Must be a student pursuing a certificate or bachelor’s degree in a restaurant and/or food service-related program.
- Must be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States or be a resident of American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
- Must be enrolled as a full-time or substantial part-time (minimum of 9 credit hours) student.
- Must have completed at least one (1) grading term of study.
- Must have earned a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.75.
- Must have a minimum of 750 hours of restaurant or foodservice-related work experience verified through pay check stubs or letters.
- Must be enrolled for two (2) consecutive semesters or not be entering your last semester before graduation.

PROGRESS ENERGY ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP - 08/09 Academic Year
- Must be a junior or senior in electrical or civil engineering in College of Engineering and Computer Science.
- Applicants must have a 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.
- Must demonstrate financial need as determined by the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).
- Applicants must have proven experience in both leadership and community activities as evidenced by a 200 word essay.
- Applicants must be a Central Florida resident within the Progress Energy service area and submit a copy of a current utility bill as substantiation.
- Scholarship will be award to students in successive semesters until graduation provided the recipients maintain satisfactory academic progress toward a degree and maintain the established criteria.

CISNEY LATIN PRIZE AWARD - 08/09 Academic Year
- Must be a first year student
- Qualified in Latin
- Must provide high transcript(s) that indicate Latin course in high school:

  1. Latin vocabulary
  2. Latin grammar
  3. Passage of translation from Caesar’s Gallic Wars and/or Cicero’s orations
  4. 1000 word essay in English on value of Latin in education at U.C.F. in world understanding.

FRATERNAL ORDER OF POLICE SCHOLARSHIP - 08/09 Academic Year
- Must be an incoming freshman who resides in Orange County.
- Must be accepted to the University of Central Florida.
- Must have graduated top 1/3 of high school graduating class.
- Must have a secured letter of recommendation from a police officer.
- Must provide a resume indicating activities, honors, awards, and other personal qualities or factors of which you want us to be aware. This list should show a history of your activities either in school or in the community.
- Must demonstrate financial need as determined by the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).

ASCO Numatics Industrial Automation Engineering College Scholarships 2008/2009
- Must be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate or graduate program in engineering, instrumentation, systems, electrical, mechanical, or automation discipline at an accredited U.S. educational institution for the 2008/2009 academic year.
-Must be a citizen, legal permanent resident or national of the United States.
-Must have attained a GPA (Grade Point Average) of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale.
-Must have completed sophomore year in a bachelor’s degree program, at the time of application.
AWARD: Two (2) merit-based scholarships of $5,000 each to exceptional undergraduate and graduate students.

NOTE: ASCO Numatics officials will present the scholarship awards at the ISA Expo, on October 14, 2008 at the ReliantCenter in Houston.  The ASCO Numatics award presentation will be part of the annual ISA Young Automation Professionals Festival (YAPFEST) that ISA hosts for automation professionals between the ages of 18 and 30.

Scholarships for ProStart National Certificate of Achievement Students
- Must be a graduating high school senior or high school junior.
- Must have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.75.
- Must have received a ProStart National Certificate of Achievement between September 1, 2007 and August 14, 2008.
- Must be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States or be a resident of American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
AWARD: $2,000

The 2008-2009 Humantech Scholarship Program
-Must be majoring in the in one of the following areas: Ergonomics, Human Factors, Kinesiology, Human Kinetics, and Industrial Engineering.
-Must be a junior, senior, masters, or doctorate student.
-Must demonstrate a strong academic background, a passion for advancing the field of ergonomics, involvement in extra-curricular activities and leadership participation in student organizations, and Interpersonal skills and social responsibility.
 AWARD: Three (3) scholarships at $1,500 each, Awards winners will be notified by November 30, 2008.

- Must be an incoming freshman or continuing undergraduate student

- Preference given to those who demonstrate financial need
- Must be a graduate of Oak Ridge High School, or an other Orange County high school
- Must display interest in teaching career in math or science
- Required SAT score 1150, ACT score 25, or equivalent high school achievement
- Must be of good ethical character

BLAINE AND REBECCA SWEAT DEGREE COMPLETION GRANTS
- Must be returning to college after an absence of two or more years
- Must be admitted to the university
- Must be enrolled as a full-time junior or senior or graduate student at UCF in the College of Business Administration

GATES MILLENNIUM SCHOLARS
-Must be an African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American or Hispanic American.
-Must be a citizen, legal permanent resident or national of the United States.
-Must have attained a GPA (Grade Point Average) of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (unweighted).
-Must be entering a U.S. accredited college or university as a full time, degree seeking freshman in the Fall semester of your freshman year.
-Must demonstrate leadership abilities through participation in community service, extracurricular or other activities.
-Must be eligible for the Federal Pell Grant (eligibility for the Pell Grant is determined by submitting a completed FAFSA; Free Application for Federal Student Aid).
To Apply: There are three components to the scholarship nomination process: (1) A Nominee Personal Information Form to be completed by the student; (2) A Nominator form to be completed by a principal, teacher, guidance counselor or other professional educator, and (3) A Recommender form to be completed by an adult, other than a relative, who is familiar with the Nominee’s community service and leadership activities.

HISPANIC SCHOLARSHIP FUND
-Be of Hispanic heritage.
-Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
-Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (Grade Point Average).
-Must apply for Federal Financial Aid funding using the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).
AWARD: Range from $1,000 to $5,000

MCNAIR POST-BACCALAUREATE ACHIEVEMENT PROGRAM
- Must be a full time UCF student who has completed 60 credit hours
- Must have a minimum 2.75 GPA
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of the United States
- Must be either a first generation college student (neither parent has received a four-year bachelor's degree) who has a low income level or a member of a group underrepresented in graduate education (African American, Hispanic American, Native American, Alaskan Native)
- Must have a serious interest in pursuing graduate study leading to the Ph.D.

NOTE: All scholars attend a summer research institute (30 hours per week for 12 weeks) and also earn a stipend as well as summer room and board. All McNair scholars work with a faculty mentor and develop research projects.

 

The United Negro College Fund
- Students must have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
- Students must have unmet need as verified by the university financial aid office.

THE SALLIE MAE FUND FIRST IN FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM 07/08
• The program is open to Hispanic Americans who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents enrolled as full time undergraduate students.
• Students must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale).
• Scholarships range from $500 to $5,000.

COLLEGE STUDENT PRECOMMISIONING INITIATIVE FOR THE U.S. COAST GUARD
- Must score a 1000 on the SAT, 1100 on the SAT I, 23 on the ACT, or ASVAB GT of 109 or higher
- Must be between 21 and 26 years of age at the time of your college graduation
- Must be a sophomore or junior (with at least 60 college credits completed toward your degree)
- Must be enrolled in a four-year degree program at an approved institution with a minimum 25% minority population
- Must meet all physical requirements for a Coast Guard Commission

1) Click on the name of the desired scholarship within our scholarship list. Some scholarships on this list may require users to email the donor or visit a web site for an application.

2) If Acrobat Reader is not installed, an Unknown File Type dialog box will appear. Click Save File. Choose the directory you wish to store the file in and click Save. The file will be downloaded.

3) Once your file has been downloaded, you may install Adobe Acrobat Reader and open the document that you downloaded. You can then view and print the form.
