Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic criteria and/or any combination of academics, financial need, campus/community activities, leadership positions and work experience.  Scholarships are designed to reward, encourage and assist students in pursuing academic excellence and leadership roles.

Many colleges and departments offer scholarships to students that are specific to an area of specialization.  Listed below are links to the various colleges on campus with scholarship listings.

2009-2010 Student Government Transfer Involvement Scholarship
-Must be a full-time, degree seeking student at UCF
-Must have at least a 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA
-Must have University Involvement: Active membership or leadership position in clubs, athletics, intramural sports, or other registered student organizations on campus
AWARD(S): Two scholarships will be awarded to students: one for Associate of Arts degree recipients, and one for non-AA degree transfers.

B. JOSEPH TENRIELLO, II SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT
(Previous Applicants Do Not Need to Apply)
- Applicant must be enrolled at the University
- Applicant must be in good standing and meet the grade point average requirements of the University
- Financial need should be taken into consideration, but is not required
- The criteria for awarding the scholarship will be consistent with the guidelines established by the University Office of Student Financial Assistance

Vince Amico Scholarship for Modeling and Simulation 2009-2010
(Previous Applicants Do Not Need to Apply)
- Applicant must be an incoming freshman with a demonstrated interest in modeling and simulation, preference will be given to students who participated in the Modeling and Simulation Program at University High School, Crooms Academy of Information and Technology, or the Institute of Engineering and Technology at Lyman High School. If there is no acceptable incoming freshman applicants, University master’s or doctoral students enrolled as a full-time student at University majoring in the modeling and simulation program may apply for aid.
- Applicants must be either full-time first time in college freshman or a full-time master’s or doctoral student.
- Applicant must hold a minimum 3.0 grade point average
- Applicant must complete the Vince Amico Scholarship for Modeling and Simulation.
- The Scholarship may not be awarded to the same student in successive academic years.

FRATERNAL ORDER OF POLICE SCHOLARSHIP 2009-2010
(Previous Applicants Do Not Need to Apply)
- Must be an incoming freshman who graduated from an Orange County Public School and reside in Orange County.
- Must be accepted to the University of Central Florida.
- Must have graduated top 1/3 of high school graduating class.
- Must have a secured letter of recommendation from a police officer.
- Must provide a resume indicating activities, honors, awards, and other personal qualities or factors of which you want us to be aware. This list should show a history of your activities either in school or in the community.
- Must demonstrate financial need as determined by the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).

TED J. SOCHAR SCHOLARSHIP 2009-2010

- Must be in good standing
- Must have a minimum of 6 hours and permanently confined to a wheelchair
- Must participate in some form of athletics such as intercollegiate, intramural level or club level
- There is no restriction as the as to the area of study or the level of standing in the University
(i.e. Freshman, Sophomore, etc.)

Thomas & Lori Cleary Endowed Scholarship Fund
- Applicants must hold a 3.25 GPA
- Recipients will be selected based on financial need for scholarship assistance under State
guidelines
- Applicants must be either a full-time freshman or sophomore, or a full-time or part-time junior or senior
- Applicants will be required to submit an essay along with their applications
- Preference will be given to students who are single parents

THOMAS MORRIS SCHOLARSHIP
- Applicant must be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student at the University
- Applicant must hold a minimum 3.0 grade point average

-Must be a graduate of T. Dewitt Taylor High School
-This scholarship may be awarded to the same student in successive semesters until graduation provided that funds are available at the recipient maintains award criteria

THE VANGUARD SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
- Must be entering your senior year of college in fall 2010
- Must be a member of a racial minority
- Must be enrolled full-time in a four-year accredited college or university in the United States
- Must be pursuing studies in business, finance, economics, accounting, information technology, or the liberal arts
- Have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident of the United States.

Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority Inc, Scholarship
- Applicant must be Latina
- Must be accepted to the University of Central Florida

-Must be of Hispanic heritage (most programs)

-Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident with a valid permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551
-Must be pursuing or plan to pursue your first undergraduate or graduate degree
-Must apply for federal financial aid using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) www.fafsa.ed.gov
-Applicant must plan to enroll full-time as an undergraduate or graduate student in a degree seeking program at a U.S. accredited institution in the U.S., Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, or Guam in the upcoming academic year

The Navy Postdoctoral Fellowship Programs
This program is open to US citizens and legal permanent residents and offers a competitive stipend as well as insurance, relocation, and travel allowances.  Locations include Navy Research Lab (NRL) and Naval Surface Warfare Center/ Indian Head.  This program offers one to three year postdoctoral fellowships designed to increase the involvement of scientists and engineers from academia and industry to scientific and technical areas of interest and relevance to the Navy.

Jewish Educational Loans Fund 2008-09 (This is a loan)
JELF's mission is to grant interest-free loans to Jewish students in need of funding for their secondary education. In July, JELF granted $639,731 in loans to 132 students throughout the Southeast. With an increase in need, JELF experienced its biggest loan disbursement ever. Applications for the 2009-10 school year will be available in February 2009.

GATES MILLENNIUM SCHOLARS
-Must be an African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American or Hispanic American.
-Must be a citizen, legal permanent resident or national of the United States.
-Must have attained a GPA (Grade Point Average) of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (unweighted).
-Must be entering a U.S. accredited college or university as a full time, degree seeking freshman in the Fall semester of your freshman year.
-Must demonstrate leadership abilities through participation in community service, extracurricular or other activities.
-Must be eligible for the Federal Pell Grant (eligibility for the Pell Grant is determined by submitting a completed FAFSA; Free Application for Federal Student Aid).
To Apply: There are three components to the scholarship nomination process: (1) A Nominee Personal Information Form to be completed by the student; (2) A Nominator form to be completed by a principal, teacher, guidance counselor or other professional educator, and (3) A Recommender form to be completed by an adult, other than a relative, who is familiar with the Nominee’s community service and leadership activities.

The United Negro College Fund
- Students must have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
- Students must have unmet need as verified by the university financial aid office.
- Students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FASFA).

COLLEGE STUDENT PRECOMMISIONING INITIATIVE FOR THE U.S. COAST GUARD
- Must score a 1000 on the SAT, 1100 on the SAT I, 23 on the ACT, or ASVAB GT of 109 or higher
- Must be between 21 and 26 years of age at the time of your college graduation
- Must be a sophomore or junior (with at least 60 college credits completed toward your degree)
- Must be enrolled in a four-year degree program at an approved institution with a minimum 25% minority population
- Must meet all physical requirements for a Coast Guard Commission
- Must maintain a GPA of 2.5 or better
- Must be a U.S. Citizen

If you have not already done so, download and install Adobe Acrobat Reader. Follow the easy instructions included with the Acrobat Reader software to install Acrobat Reader on your computer.

Download Adobe Acrobat Reader Now!

1) Click on the name of the desired scholarship within our scholarship list. Some scholarships on this list may require users to email the donor or visit a web site for an application.

2) If Acrobat Reader is not installed, an Unknown File Type dialog box will appear. Click Save File. Choose the directory you wish to store the file in and click Save. The file will be downloaded.

3) Once your file has been downloaded, you may install Adobe Acrobat Reader and open the document that you downloaded. You can then view and print the form.

4) If Acrobat Reader is installed, Acrobat Reader will open and the form will be displayed. You can then view and print the form.
