Eligibility Requirements

Federal Work Study (FWS) is a program designed to provide college students who are in need of financial assistance a chance to earn money while pursing their degree.

Individual departments hire FWS students, but the Student Financial Assistance (SFA) office sets the award and pay rate.

The UCF Federal Work Study Job Connection website can help you find a job that fits your schedule and is just minutes from your classes.

To be eligible for Federal Workstudy, you must:

1. Meet a need of at least $4,000 for the Fall & Spring or $2,000 for the Summer
2. Be degree seeking at UCF
3. Be enrolled at least half-time at UCF
4. Be a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, eligible non-citizen, or citizen of the Freely Associated States: the Federated States of Micronesia and the republics of Palau and the Marshall Islands (for more information, please see the FAFSA)
5. Have a Social Security card or letter from the Social Security Administration (application receipt)
